This SECA-organised conference 2023 is being held in conjunction with the 9th ABS (Architecture & Building Services) 2023, which is scheduled at the MBS from the 15th to 17th November 2023.
In a recent discussion with CEMS, organiser of the ABS series, Mr John Tan, President of SECA and Mr Edward Kway, the Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organising Committee, expressed elation on staging the regional event in Singapore, post Covid!
“To be candid, Indonesia was supposed to hold the AFEEC & FAPECA conference in Jakarta this year, but we persuaded them to let us stage the event instead,” said Mr Tan.
Mr Kway explained: “This is because we were approached by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) who encouraged us to hold the conference, as part of the revival of the MICE industry and economic recovery in Singapore.
“We are indeed grateful to our counterparts in Indonesia and in the ASEAN and Asia Pacific regions as they supported our request to hold the event in Singapore.”
Founded in 1976, SECA acts as a vital link between the private and the public sectors to help improve the electrical engineering industry in Singapore. Its membership is open to all electrical contractors, trading companies in related industries and licensed electrical workers.
Mr Tan said that SECA is honoured to host the annual regional AFEEC & FAPECA Conference 2023 at the MBS as the annual conference would be the first after the Covid pandemic.
“This conference will enable fellow regional electrical and contracting industry partners to finally meet-up face-to-face. This is really an important part of our business networking.”
As the Organising Chairman, Mr Kway is excited with the positive response to the Conference from all their counterparts from the ASEAN and Asia Pacific regions.
Said Mr Kway: “We are expecting some 200 delegates with the bulk of them coming the ASEAN countries, Hong Kong, Korea and Taiwan.”
As part of the Conference, Mr Kway said that the Boards of the two federations would be holding their meetings in Singapore, while attending a gala dinner for some 400 delegates and a golf tournament at the Orchid Country Club on Friday, 17th November 2023.
The AFEEC & FAPECA Conference 2023 is held in conjunction with the 9TH ABS (Architecture and Building Services) 2023, one of Asia’s most comprehensive architectural shows with an expected visitor number of more than 10,000 conference delegates and trade visitors.
ABS comprises six specialised shows all under one roof, viz 1) 9th ArchXpo 2023, 2) 3rd Design Asia 2023, 3) 10th iFaME 2023, 4) 19th Fire & Disaster Asia 2023, 5) 21st Safety & Security Asia 2023 and 6) 9th Work Safe Asia 2023.
